“The Abyssal Mirror” exhibition is a first project
presented by a Romanian contemporary artist who was conceived and created in
the tehnique of red wine tint. For Tudor Plaiesu, the wine is natural and
sacred liquid and a pretext for artistic exploring the myth of Dionysos. It is
also an anti-consumerism statement.
The exhibition presents 15 large compositions of graphics
treated in the manner of painting of 50 x 70 cm representing allegories
centered around the feminine figure- the ideal of beauty. The works are also a
challenge for the viewer as the artist had “hidden” in each work references to
the great masters of painting. The artist works with a red dark Lacerta Merlot 2010 wine
and a very good quality texture Fabriano paper. Curator: Meda Popea- Arts & Events.
