Who is Tudor Plaiesu

Tudor Plăieșu is a Romanian visual artist living and working in Romania and Germany. He has a BA in Graphics of the Academy of Arts (UNAB), Bucharest, 2007. Tudor started drawing very early, as a child, and we find him at 18 years old working as a professional artist. His artistic expertise includes today various techniques, as painting, mural painting, engraving, graphics, drawing, book illustration etc. He developed his personal mixed technique based on the ancient Byzantine painting tradition and contemporary techniques. Well known for its extraordinary force in the art of the portrait and its excellent skills in book illustration. Impressive portfolio as a mural painter. 

Works in private collections in Romania, France, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Greece, Canada, Germany, USA (New York). Monumental works for private residences or public spaces in Romania: Castel Film, Coca-Cola, Hotel Z, Ageless Club, veterinary hospital Marco Vet- Bucharest, Chateau de Calviere in France, private residence Heidelberg in Germany etc. Group exhibitions with Atelier 35, 2000.

March 2015- "Hyperborea II", Friedrich Schiller Cultural House of the German Minority in Bucharest.  June/ July 2013, “The Abyssal Mirror”, the first red wine painting exhibition in Romania, World Trade Center Bucharest. September/ October 2013, “Hyperborea”, mixed technique, Pullman World Trade Center Bucharest. October 2013, “The Abyssal Mirror”, happening and red wine tint exhibition, Howard Johnson Grand Plaza Hotel Bucharest. March 2014, "Faces Extravaganza", performance and portraits exhibition at Howard Johnson Grand Plaza Hotel Bucharest. March 2014, Spring Show, group exhibition, The National Museum of The Romanian Peasant. In 2014, Tudor developed an ambitious personal mural painting project in Germany, in the area of Heidelberg, decorating with baroque and rococo paintings a private residence. In 2015, the artist has new decorative and mural projects in Germany.
